Course Syllabus
Welcome to your Chemistry course! This course covers the basic principles and properties of matter. You will discover how the atomic model has evolved as you learn about atomic structure. You will also explore periodic laws, types of bonding, chemical reactions, and stoichiometry.
This course is made up of six units. Within each lesson of a unit, you will learn and practice the information in a variety of ways. Some activities are graded, while others are not. Please make sure to ask your teacher about course guidelines and grading policies.
Course Objectives
- Apply scientific processes to conduct an investigation.
- Explain how and why scientists classify and model different types of matter.
- Describe the basic structure and organization of matter and atoms.
- Relate the structure of atoms to the properties of the substances they form.
- Use models to describe the process of chemical reactions and how substances form.
- Use stoichiometry to predict the outcomes of a chemical reaction.
