Welcome to Physical Education! This course teaches about the importance of physical activity, and how it impacts health and wellness. In addition, you’ll examine how exercise affects elements of athleticism such as stamina, strength, flexibility, speed, and power.
This course also looks at elements of sports and recreation. Important characteristics of sports, such as etiquette, fair play, diversity, and multiculturalism, are explored.
This course details important guidelines and procedures for exercise, based on the latest scientific research. You’ll learn how to design effective and safe stretching, strength training, and cardiorespiratory exercise routines.
This course also examines important factors about behavior modification. You’ll learn the value of identifying barriers to physical activity, strategies for improving exercise adherence, setting goals, and managing stress.
Lastly, this course discusses nutrition and healthy eating habits. In addition, you’ll find out about some practical solutions for healthy eating, as well as how to identify fad diets and bogus marketing claims.
Upon completing this course, you’ll have expanded your knowledge and understanding of sports and fitness and how they impact your overall health and wellbeing. And, you’ll be fully prepared to implement what you learned into your everyday life. Enjoy the course!
